Description

Subtle florals, mildly soapy, smoothed out by that musk. Amazing Grace is aptly titled - a graceful fragrance I picture on someone clean and put-together. I didn't realize how long ago this was released, and I think it has aged fantastically.

Absolutely stunning. It feels... and smells like lemon souffle !! Very nice on the skin, and the scent lasts. This week I came across a little 15 ml bottle, bought it right away and I am so happy I got it because now it was a instant love. it's extremely feminine and would suit a young woman under 40 (or a youthful female) because it doesn't have the complexity or depth of a mature fragrance. for work, the soap makes it inoffensive but I personally would not wear at work for fear of not being taken seriously since its very simple and girly. I can see some people voted it was like baby grace.i have both and say no, this one has far more white florals and zingy citrus and freesia. baby grace is more musky and powdery and not zingy at all.

About

I'm seeing a lot of complaints about longevity, but it does pretty ok on me, I have the EDP and not the EDT, which may be why. It lasts about 6 hours before becoming a skin scent, longer layered with the lotion. I don't notice it after a while, but I'm consistently told that I smell good by my roommate whenever I walk into the kitchen, so I'd say projection is about 4-6 feet at least for the first few hours. This is a light, fresh and uplifting scent that tends to make people (not just the wearer) happy... but it is NOT the same as of late, about the same time Philosophy got bought by Coty. My mother adores this, her favourite flower is lily of the valley and she told me I smelled like a field of flowers.

Inoffensive soapy floral. Good grab and go. Perfect for teenagers and people who want to wear perfume but not really smell like perfume. When I started on fragrantica in 2010 this was one of the first scents I reviewed (the review is gone). 10 years later and when I smell this scent it immediately goes "diaper baby" in my brain. Just never been a fan. Although I remember this one being unbearably powdery to me in the past and now I think it's a lot more watery. I wonder if they've diluted the formula or changed it somehow. I have a small bottle I can stand wearing. It was a gift from my parents, and now that I don't see them much their gifts are more precious.I find this a nondescript, inoffensive, floral-leaning musk. Not a musk bomb though...just an underwhelming, safe musk. A friend and I beelined straight for Mecca Cosmetica to spritz ourselves with this perfume. A green curry and a few moscatos later, my wrists seemed to attach themselves to my face. I could not get enough of the smell, and despite the public setting, I was not subtle with the self-sniffing. Soft & soapy rose. This scent isn't a laundry scent- but the image I get is of fresh linen & blue skies. It's classy... and as some other have mentioned, "squeaky clean." My mother & I have had many of the Amazing Grace perfumes and body products over the years- and I never get tired of smelling it. Amazing Grace by Philosophy is a Floral fragrance for women. Amazing Grace was launched in 1996. The nose behind this fragrance is Tanya Petrakov. Top notes are Bergamot, Grapefruit and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Freesia, Jasmine and Rose; base note is Musk. I did not like the ballet rose or nude rose versions as they are too floral and give me a headache. I did like the warm cashmere version of fresh cream but honestly I prefer the original. First blast of screechy heady white florals that immediately dissipates and becomes subdued. What remains is a soft freesia that stays very close to the skin despite my going heavy on the trigger. Nothing more to say, really. It's a simple sweet innocent white floral, inoffensive and young. Feminine and would be suitable for all weather.I like the citrusy opening. It's pretty, but meh. Not my thing. Also it lasts nothing on me, maybe 1h. I tried a sample of their face cream a while ago and I'm not sure if it's the exact same fragrance, but it's definitely similar. Top is super short-lived. Citrus for literally the first 2 seconds .. so fleeting I can’t really distinguish which citrus is present. (If I had to guess, mostly bergamot?) There’s also a brief, spicy, slightly green floral note. The rest of the wear is a fairly linear mix of slightly sweet florals and powdery musk. It definitely fits in with Philosophy’s “Grace” line .. that signature “clean”/musky accord forms the base of the fragrance.

I'm not usually a person who changes fragrance with the weather, but I do like the EDP when the weather is not hot or humid. The EDT is great for me on the hot days.

Reviews

Have you ever stood next to someone who smelled like loud cheap laundry detergent slash crazy fabric softener? And not the good kind but the kind that made you want to move as far away as you could? I've never tried or smelled the EDP, so I can't compare them. But when I do, I'll write an update. I'm not sure if I'll like the EDP better because it was a rose note, and I'm not a fan of a rose accord. But we'll see! I really hate rose notes, so I was slightly nervous to try this, but I can't smell rose in this that much. I have both the toilette and the parfum of this fragrance (not that it's entirely important, but the two bottles look VERY different, even down to the color of the perfume). It's very powdery, feminine, sweet, and fresh. I never got to smell this before it was reformulated, but I love the current formula. I find it to be a great fragrance to wear whenever. When you first spray it and it's wet, the citrus really comes through. When it dries down, It's a very clean and fresh scent. It smells slightly like baby powder to me, but I LOVE the way baby powder smells. I can't stop smelling this when I have it on. The EDT and EDP of this are completely different! The EDP is very citrus forward (grapefruit to me specifically) versus the EDT which is lighter, cleaner and more floral. On Fragrantica, these would be the EDTs: Amazing Grace 20th Birthday Special Edition, Amazing Grace Melarie Odelusi Limited Edition
