No warps as mentioned by others, but there's some noticeable surface noise, which is oddly inconsistent, which makes it stand out even more. Transformer' was originally released by RCA Victor and spawned several completely timeless singles, among them were 'Perfect Day', 'Satellite of Love' and 'Walk on the Wild Side'. One of the most successful and enjoyable debuts in history, the Cars’ self-titled album doubles as a greatest-hits collection. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source from which to master: CDs, LPs, digital files and even MP3s.

In November 1972, Transformer launched Lou Reed from the underground way up to Mars, with a little help from Starman Bowie. It was produced by Mick Ronson and David Bowie and marked the beginning of a long and illustrious solo career for the rock 'n' roll animal. Originally released by RCA Records in 1972 Lou Reed’s second solo album Transformer is an album that everyone should own and without a doubt – Essential.

In our re-releases it is our aim to faithfully reproduce the original intentions of the musicians and recording engineers which, however, could not be realised at the time due to technical limitations.Reed came back with a vengeance in the '80s and '90s, though, producing some truly powerful work (THE BLUE MASK, NEW YORK). Mick Rock was there to capture Reed's flight on film, beginning with the iconic album cover and continuing through the wild side of the Seventies. Picture sleeves and inner sleeves will have some slight wear, slightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam split. As a matter of principle, only analogue masters are used, and the necessary cutting delay is also analogue. It was Reed's first producer, VU impresario Andy Warhol, who inspired the lead cut when he suggested "Vicious" as a song title.

Vinyl’s newfound popularity has led many other companies to jump on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market.Images from throughout the Seventies chronicle Lou's transformations from the unique perspective of a close friend.
