The King’s Pants follows a similar storyline, offering a selection of pants for every occasion, from edible organic pants to inflatable space-pants.

Submissions must be made by the print publisher and publishers can submit no more than THREE titles per imprint. Pupils at Holy Trinity C of E Primary Academy School in Oswestry, Shropshire, who painted bold colours and patterns on white pants and duly sent them to the King to celebrate his coronation, were delighted to receive a royal reply this week. The original, award winning, book explores the Queen's fashions with a cheeky wink to childish humour- "Everyone can see the Queen's smart coats and dresses, but what does she wear under- neath? Through the eyes of a little girl hoping for a school visit by the Queen, the range of royal underwear is revealed, in all its regal glory" Remember to write who it is to and write who it is from. If you are confident in writing your first name you could write your surname too. You could even write a special message inside. The Queen ends the story by later sending a special note to the child stating, 'Her Majesty wishes to inform you that her visit was most enjoyable ... and very comfortable.' She obviously didn't visit the school at Christmas! The King’s Pants, published in April, has proved similarly successful in capturing the imagination.

When he was 12 he made a model of a galleon out of a walnut shell which was exhibited at the Royal Academy in London. Carole Crane, a teacher at Dersingham Infant and Nursery School, in Norfolk, revealed in 2012 that she was advised ahead of the late Queen’s visit that the children “did not need to be asking what she was wearing today”.Aimed for readers aged 0-7, it is evident that this book has been created to be loved by children of all ages! We cannot accept entries that are only available in e-format or that are self-published or where the author has contributed or paid for the costs of publishing. To give them a little inspiration for their writing, children could take a look at this Story Word Mat to Support Teaching on Pants! Featuring some of the main vocabularies from this popular children's story, word mats are perfect for supporting your little learners to branch out and try some new vocabulary. So common did it become that on one such occasion, royal aides made it clear the children should not ask the monarch about her underwear. The Queen’s wardrobe is ‘enormous’. Can you think of other words to describe what her wardrobe might be like?

For almost three decades, schoolchildren bombarded Elizabeth II with underpants designed by their own fair hands. Think about the materials that different types of clothing are made from. Why did the manufacturer decide to use those materials? How are the different parts joined together? The King was deeply touched that you should have taken the trouble to write, and would have me convey his warmest wishes to the pupils and staff at Holy Trinity C of E Primary Academy and Nursery. Cheryl Meddins, a teacher at the school, said: “The children were so excited, jumping up and down when we received the letter. To be honest we all were.”
