In den ersten Bänden freundeten wir uns mit Garviel Loken, Capitain der Luna Wolves, spätere Sons of Horus, an und lernten seine bedächtige, souveräne Art zu schätzen.

And although it was good to read from that point, there wasn't really that excitement that the first three books had. Can Garro and his men survive the depredations of Chaos and get his warning to the Emperor before Horus' plans reach fruition? There's a lot of action packed into a relatively short book, and the constantly moving pace is keeping me turning the pages and hopping from book to book without slowing down. It is still a great read to follow and see what happened aboard the Eisenstein after the events of Isstvan III.Garro stands for the original old Death Guard known as The Dusk Raiders whom were later renamed Death Guard once their Primarch Mortarion was found by the Emperor.

The first half of the book consists of highly unnecessary backstory before we finally get back on track, but from there on it was enjoyable. All we ask is the product still be in its original packaging and you have your proof of purchase and we'll be happy to help. The Flight of the Eisenstein is a novel by James Swallow and the fourth book in The Horus Heresy series.

James Swallow is best known for being the author of the Horus Heresy novels Fear to Tread and Nemesis, which both reached the New York Times bestseller lists, The Flight of the Eisenstein and four audio dramas featuring the character Nathaniel Garro. I found it difficult to keep track of (and thus, to be invested in) a number of his characters, perhaps because of Swallow's habit of referring to them by both first and last name throughout the narrative. After many years of swearing I'd get around to reading it, I've now read it and can wholeheartedly recommend it. The only reason it did not achieve more was because the novel did not contain more Legions and was slightly shorter than I would have liked. Decius’s eyes flashed at the old veteran’s jibe, but Garro caught the moment and laughed softly, defusing it.

I rather enjoyed the opening ballard between Garro and Grulgor – who delights in putting down old-straight-arrow-Garro whenever he can. Un crescendo di narrazione e di dettagli, con l'ingresso di numerosi personaggi importanti, tra i quali alla fine Lord Malcador, Reggente della Terra, il secondo dopo l'Imperatore stesso. Sure, he doesn’t get virus bombed like Loken and Tarvitz, but the latter two get a release in that, a finality.

But it has to be mentioned, that the every time the narrator encounters an 's' - your headphones are going to explode. The blurb tells you straight up, Garro and his loyals are heading for Terra to bring news of the betrayal to the Emperor himself. One man clinging to honor where none is to be found and staying true to himself and his brothers while oaths and allegiances around him are disintegrating.
