In comparison with my Adventure boots, the Terras have more toe, heel and ankle protection and a harder sole. For my current style of riding they are the right combination of comfort, protection, weight and importantly they are waterproof. Well it’s a boot designed for the adventure bike rider who is going to be spending some, but probably not all, of his time off road. Lylebarn Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, register number 654682 and act as a credit broker and not a lender. The clips are easily adjustable to give a snug fit and they're easy to "step out of" which is important when removing them to step into my tent without hopping about and falling over.

Walking beside the bike the footpeg caught the boot overlap, again putting the rubbers back on has stopped this. I usually struggle with boots that are supposed to support the foot and the leg – skating or ski boots, for example – and can generally only wear them for 30 minutes or so without them beginning to hurt.I agree totally about the soft sole problem on the basic Forma boot and the drawbacks of using MX boots for touring road/off-road. There is also a Velcro tab at the top with an elasticated section to prevent water from running in if they are worn outside trouser legs. Also there is little or no heel impact absorption from the rear (important for high-side landings), and they don’t allow your lower legs to flex and rotate naturally causing spiral fractures + upper tib/fib fractures + busted knees. There is a Drytex waterproof and breathable liner to keep water out but allow the foot to breathe and there is TPU protection on the ankle and a large section on the shin. No matter what boots we choose there will always be compromises we have to make, whether that be for comfort, impact protection, high speed impact, weight, waterproof capabilities, control feel or purely fit.

During the 6 months of my travels through Central Asia and Europe I’ve tested them in all sorts of scenarios for 30 000km. Also, the Evo sole is more flexible but yet strong enough to feel comfortable while standing up off road. The Evos allowed my foot to rotate inside the boot to some degree reducing the amount of torsion force applied to my bones. The first time I wore them was for a five-hour cross-country and motorway jaunt and they felt as good at the end as the beginning.

I had to adjust my gear lever, I've put it at its highest setting, as I literally couldn't fit this chunky thing under to change up gear, (on a triumph Tiger). As I got more off road experience, I realised that my Adventure boots were not providing me the protection I wanted. Pleased so far but early days for me, however just read the 4 year/2500 mile review in the Oct 23 issue of Ride magazine. Conversely, full motocross-specification boots will be excellent for protecting your feet and lower legs but could prove too rigid and unforgiving for road use.

Only one issue, the upper Clasp on one of the Boots is not properly aligned and therefore doesn't close completely. There are also strong heel and toe cups and there is also a triangular TPU protective section on the outside of the edge of the foot. Although I had had plenty of spills, falls and a few broken bones, yet still no foot injuries, purely out of precaution I needed some more solid boots! The Forma brand is now recognized as one of the most innovative brands in the motorcycle boot business.

I havent worn the second pair yet , the first pair are still in great shape , i even go for 3 mile walks in them daily. The Forma Adventure boots are designed to work effectively as road boots, complete with some dual-sport features, and a lightweight construction for greater rider agility and bike control.Adventure boots are designed for road or dirt road riding, which is what 99% of ADV riders do, and these boots perform and protect better on a road or hard surface. The Forma brand today is still not completely mature and the goal is to continue its growth in the future. The enthusiasm concerning the product range, the potential to offer only the best product together with the excellent assistance to the sales distribution network through sponsorship investments in the main World Championships has been done to make the brand more recognizable.
