It's almost as if he added in some elements of fiction (or at least speculation) to fill in the gaps. The book also includes excerpts from original English translations of speeches by men and women who lived close to Muhammad, heard him speak, witnessed his actions, witnessed the way he interacted with situations and witnessed events he encountered throughout various stages of his life. Topics including Islamic origins and early Islam, pre-Islamic Arabia, and late antiquity are also discussed in a friendly yet engaging way. Sangat digalakkan buat mereka yang mahu menyegarkan semula kefahaman sirah yang kita belajar sewaktu kecil dulu. He also reports from Lings how while writing this book, "he was overwhelmed with the presence of the Prophet during the entire time and felt a great blessing in having been able to complete it.

The book requires some focus in the beginning as the reader will encounter many characters but then it will be easy once you have focused already. He has adopted a style which is at once extremely readable and reflects both the simplicity and grandeur of the story. There is a freshness, clarity and gripping suspense throughout the book… As a text in the how and the why and the when of various revelations—both Koranic and Prophetic traditions—it is enlightening and authoritative… Our author’s familiarity with all the complicated inter-family links of tribal Arabia gives us the certainty that he knows his material thoroughly… This work should be translated into Arabic so that the whole Arab world may drink from it.

Even the miracles performed by the Prophet has been written in such simplicity that those seems to be the normal thing! As you already know, the Bible is hardly ever reliable and not a lot of scholars think that those verses meant Abraham traveled to Arabia.I do not recommend this book to readers if they want to learn about Muhammad and the history of Islam. Though written in an archaic style, it is comparatively new, having published for the first time in 1983. Cairo became his home for over a decade; he became an English teacher at the University of Cairo and produced Shakespeare plays annually. If Allah can let these many people be massacred, then he should immediately revoke his title of Ar-Rahman, the most merciful.
